AGS Library​

The library at the Elementary School supports a culture of inquiry and encourages a love of reading. With a collection of over 10, 000 titles, students have access to a variety of literature and information. The AGS library utilizes the Follett Catalogue System, which is the leading library management software for K-12. This system also provides access to our e-book collection and links to several educational websites. The library enables students to adapt to the various challenges of the digital learning age.

Library Procedures
Operating Hours
The library is open from 8:00am – 3:00pm on all regular school days
Students must use the library with their classes at preset times
Students may also use the library for reading, research and studying provided a library pass or note of permission from the classroom teacher is presented.

Book Loans
KG students may borrow one book at a time, with a loan period of one week.
Grade 1 may borrow up to two books at a time, with a loan period of one week.
Grades 2 and 3 may borrow up to three books at a time, with a loan period of one week.
All materials must be checked out before they leave the library.
Books may be renewed for a further loan period if needed.
Replacement costs are charged for lost or damaged books. Parents have an option of replacing the book or simply paying the charge for the book to be replaced.

Computer Use
The computers in the library are for the sole use of academic work and research.
Students must first sign an annual Computer Use Agreement​.
